walked home late last night bare-legged in the first snow of the season. 2 cold n tired 4 words. i worked at CASI for 10 hours and then had class for 2. i luv my job though.
have been thinking a lot lately about how being a young, moderately attractive woman affects my daily life, especially in dealing with bureaucracies...have been getting a lot of things more easily/faster than i would if i was a man/unnattractive/older woman. got free checks at commerce when ben had to pay. got a penncard (and a wink) from a dude right after a woman told me i couldn't get one. some construction workers let me drive down a street that was closed after turning a bunch of other cars away. it's convenient but strange.

what a great day. i'm so glad it's all over! i am going to miss reading ben's blog for updates though - he singlehandedly kept me informed about the campaign and answered all my dumb questions respectfully. he still has a lot of work to do to make me politically literate though, seeing as when i saw the title of his latest post, "mandate?" i thought he was talking about how he wanted to go gay for barack obama or something. i forgot that mandate is actually a word, still don't understand though...
in other news, those slumlords that call themselves the philadelphia water board shut off our water. i smeeeeeellll.

i am so proud!!! i wanted to let him play with the mouse for a while since he did such a good job of killing it, but ben made me throw it away. actually i said i would throw it away and then didn't and then ben had to throw it away for me. lol. i luv this pic - leon is like YEAH I JUST KILLED THIS MOUSE WHAT OF IT I AM ALL THAT IS MANCAT.

I got a job last Wednesday as an administrative assistant/research associate at the Center for the Advanced Study of India at Penn. I start next Tuesday. I'm so excited!!!
